High and Low

October 28, 2007 at 8:28 pm (Spiritual) (, )

“…I feel an emptiness,” said a grief-stricken Dr Sheikh Muszaphar, the first Malaysian to go to space, on the demise of his beloved brother.

When I read the news this morning, my sympathy went out to him.

Nothing that the world offers will ever replace the emptiness in us.

Only God Himself can fill the emptiness in us through His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

May God’s comfort be upon Dr Sheikh Muszaphar and family.

Amin.

Divine blessing…deliverance

October 28, 2007 at 6:59 pm (Personal, Spiritual)

Today’s sermon was based on 1 Chronicles 4:9, 10.

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, [c] saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

Isolation, insulation or influencer?

October 14, 2007 at 4:45 pm (Personal, Spiritual) (, , , , )

Words from the pastor.

Neither isolation nor insulation from the world will cause change.

A Christian who engages the world is an influencer.

Jesus also said:

The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a woman mixes a little yeast into three big batches of flour. Finally, all the dough rises.

Astronaut or NOT?

October 12, 2007 at 2:04 pm (Justice, Politics) (, , , , , , )

A lot of hoohah about Malaysian first astronaut or cosmonaut or what-not.
Fact is he is just a FLIGHT PARTICIPANT. Perhaps, one level up after SPACE TOURIST.
I’m not making this up. Just check:

Meanwhile, this week, Raya mood blankets trial in Altantuya case and No clear image of man’s face or number plates in Nurin case.

I pray Godspeed for these two cases.

Double Dose

October 8, 2007 at 11:36 pm (Personal, Spiritual) (, , , , )

No, I don’t believe in good or bad luck.

Just a bad day today.

In the morning, at about quarter to 12, as I was exiting to Federal Highway from Sunway, a lorry came from behind on my left and hit the side mirror of car. Quickly, I overtook and honked at the lorry. It slowed down as I drove to the shoulder of the highway. I stopped and alighted from my car. So did the lorry driver.

I gestured to the driver. Immediately, he raised his voice and said, ‘I’m not earning mega bucks! You expect me to pay?’ I told him he was at fault. He denied and accused me of coming from behind and brushed against his lorry. Also, he challenged me to jot down the lorry registration number and lodge a police report.

By now, my temperature was rising. I said, ‘Hello, mister, please drive carefully next time…’ After that, I asked him firmly, ‘Do you agree with me that you came from behind me and hit my car.’ To my surprise, he said, ‘I’m sorry….’

Feeling really frustrated and knowing that I couldn’t get him to pay, I decided to end the dispute. I gestured him to leave and said, ‘NEVERMIND LAH.’

Later in the evening, at about quarter past six, I had a fall on the bridge leading to Hall 1 & 2 of PWTC. I slipped and fell when I stepped on a some split lotion. Amazingly, I had a soft-and-slow-motion landing. Thank God for His protection and mercy!

Batman Christian

October 7, 2007 at 2:50 pm (Spiritual) (, , )

Yet another nation-transformation-related Sunday sermon that draws a truth found in a memorable quote from ‘Batman Begins‘.

BatmanBegins It’s not who I am underneath, but what I *do* that defines me.

The ‘DO’ points:

The first level is favor – DO in our work by serving wholeheartedly.

The second level is authority – DO with what we have.

The third level is dominion – DO @ World.

What a match!

October 5, 2007 at 10:09 am (Justice) (, , , )

In The Star Online today, the expert said match in DNA tests in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial.

Strange thing is the expert, a 54-year-old chemist, did not establish that the “biological daughter” was indeed the deceased.

So, what does that mean? A match that doesn’t match? If not the deceased, then WHO?
