Thank God for a ray of hope.

The former Chief Justice (CJ), Tun Ahmad Fairuz Abdul Halim, had his application for a six-month extension rejected following today’s meeting of the country’s nine hereditary rulers with Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi. His tenure as the CJ expired yesterday when he officially turned 66, the mandatory retirement age for judges as stated in the Federal Constitution. This fellow is the one linked to the alleged brokering of judges’ appointments exposed in the Lingam Tape.
