Government on His Shoulder

January 23, 2008 at 6:17 pm (Personal, Spiritual) ()

Isaiah 9

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

May His government come upon our lives and land.

May His government and peace increase over Malaysia!

8

January 13, 2008 at 11:10 pm (Personal, Spiritual) (, )

For the first time, I heard a sermon that simply entitled ‘8’.

8 in Hebrew is the letter Chet.

Chet is the Number of New Beginnings
Since Chet represents the number 8, we can see how it represents grace, (chen) and the concept of new beginnings:

  • Brit milah (), the covenant of circumcision, occurs on the 8th day of a boy’s life, marking the beginning of of his life
  • There were 8 souls saved during the mabul hagadol (great flood) of Noah
  • The LORD reaffirmed His covenant to Abraham 8 times
  • David was the 8th son of Jesse
  • Sukkot is an 8 day festival that anticipate the Olam Habah – the world to come
  • Jesus was resurrected on the 1st day of the week, which if we understand the preceding seven days to constitute a complete cycle, is the eighth day

What is my new beginning beginning tomorrow, January 14, 2008?

Hopefully, by God’s grace, I will know tomorrow.

Elijah.Elisha.TheYoungMan

December 30, 2007 at 8:38 pm (Personal, Spiritual) (, )

Don’t mess with the man of God – the prophet.

God backed up every word of Elijah, Elisha and the young man (2 Kings 9:4)

They brought the fear of the Lord upon the land.

In the days of Elijah, Elisha and the young man, the evil structure of the day was destroyed.

May God bring down the Ahab, Jezebel and Baal of our present day.

Ahab – evil ruler

Jezebel – corruption

Baal – false religion

Jesus reigns!

Forgiveness

December 23, 2007 at 11:01 pm (Personal, Spiritual) (, , )

Forgiveness

So much needs to be done yet so much needs to be undone.

How do we ‘undo‘ offenses? If we are wounded or hurt by someone, we have to forgive.

Not easy but we have to do it. Only then healing and reconciliation will flow.

If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Linking Generations

December 16, 2007 at 8:35 pm (Personal, Spiritual)

The Elijah-Elisha-the sons-of-the-prophets linking speaks of the three-generational succession of anointing and ministry.

Elijah, the major prophet of his days, had a follower named Elisha who became his servant.

Later, after Elijah was taken up to heaven, his mantle of leadership fell upon Elisha. ElijaHeaven

Now, as Elijah’s successor, Elisha had the double portion of anointing that he sought for in Elijah.

Elisha, in his lifetime, performed many miracles and raised his own the sons of the prophets.

Joshua 1:8 (New King James Version)

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

May Malaysia see justice

November 12, 2007 at 8:59 am (Personal, Spiritual) (, , )

May our homes be filled with dancing,

May our streets be filled with joy,

May injustice bow to Jesus,

As the people turn and pray.

Yes, the BERSIH rally on Nov 10 was a success. Nevertheless, it will take more than street demonstration or petition to the Agong.

We have to appeal, to cry out to the King of kings, the Judge of all.

1, 2, 3…

November 4, 2007 at 10:46 pm (Personal, Spiritual) (, )

I have to start all over again.

God first.

The rest follows.

Matthew 6 (New King James Version)

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
